The idea for MamaOm began two years ago when I designed and made three matching dresses for my first daughter and I. The dresses were modern, colorful and fun. Every time we wore the dresses someone would ask me where I had gotten them, and how could they get them. The idea of creating a ‘mommy and me’ boutique came to my mind, but I soon became pregnant with my second daughter, and the thought of starting a business was lost amongst diapers.
After a while the idea of opening a ‘mommy and me’ boutique kept lingering, but now it was not only a ‘mommy and me’ boutique, but something more. With a background in Environmental Studies and Design, it only seemed right to merge together my three loves, my daughters, design and the environment. The idea of an eco-friendly ‘mommy and me’ boutique was born. I decided to partner up with Nena who is filled with creative ideas. Her taste and vision are impeccable, and her sense of style is unique. We became a perfect match, everything else is history.
Now after months of hard work, and nights of zero to no sleep, our new creation is here: MamaOm™ A mommy and me boutique with a conscience. At MamaOm we provide our clients with the best quality clothing made from 100% organic and natural fabric.
All of the pieces in our brand have been chosen and inspected by us. We have taken the time to make sure we are using the best materials, letting them be either organic or natural, we do not use synthetic materials. We support Fair Labor Trade 100% and we make sure all the items we offer are made in a proper working environment; we don’t sell anything from sweatshops or promote child labor products. We try to use recycled products whenever possible, we communicate mostly by e-mails reducing our paper waste, and bring our strong environmental beliefs to all aspects of our lives.
All of our clothing lines will mix comfort and functionality without forgetting fashion and design. We know how hard it is to be a mom, and how time consuming it can be. So we want to provide our clients with pieces that will make them feel and look good, without having to take too much time to achieve it.
All of our pieces are made and designed keeping in mind what the life of today’s mothers is all about: comfort, fashion, functionality and quality.
